These are a Few of My Favorite Things – Summer Favs!

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post! Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions even some health tricks. Really anything that we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!

Happy Friday Friends! Hope you are able to enjoy a long weekend and still soaking up all the summer fun of 4th of July going into the weekend! Our neighborhood has fireworks always on the 5th. They are a great display and we can see them right from our deck! So today we are getting ready to host Dan’s family, since his brother from Arizona is in town, and my sister and her family. It will be a fun evening. Best part of the past few days though? How much it feels like summer: simple, laid back, sunny, long days, sundresses, flip flops, and lots of fresh fruit and tasty cocktails. We love summer!

Bessette Family on the 4th of July 2019

So for today’s Friday Favorites Post, I am sharing a few of my summer favs from previous posts. If your looking for ways to really get into the season here are my must have items:

1- Rainbow flip flops. These are my go to summer shoes. I know, I know in my 30s and so many cute, affordable trendy looks out there these days…. really plain old flip flops? But it’s true- I have worn these as a bridesmaid (check out the post) and can go for long walks with my little family and not have any shin splints, which will happen with other sandels. These are my favorite summer shoe!

2 – Summer Movies. You guys know we love movies and in the summer we can even hook up the TV outside for some evening alfresco viewing. Here is my list of movies to get into the season…. and be sure to check your local movie theaters- one of ours just had a one night showing of Jaws!

3- Wedge Salad. Well ya’ll know cooking items don’t appear often on my favorite anything…. but this salad has been on repeat in our house and it just hits all the summer checklists: fast, fresh and easy! So if your looking for a side to your summer BBQ – I recommend the wedge and the receipe I share in this post gives a few way ways to jazz it up!

4- Favorite Bathing Suit. Is it even summer if we aren’t logging some time at the pool or beach?? So a good suit that works well for you and makes you feel confident is a must! Here has been my favorite for years!

5- The t-shirt dress. I know I just shared this post last week… but ya’ll I swear by this summer staple and will be wearing mine all weekend as we bounce from family hang out sessions to doctor appointments for us both to just hanging at home and walking the dog… They are the best!!

My Summer Favorite June 2019

Now I am off to do one of my favorite summer activities… hosting! Will be sure to return to the blog with a few shots of my favorite red, white and blue decor! Have a great weekend guys!

Happy 4th of July from Dan, Jac & Q! July 2019

Thank you so much for reading and remember to make it a great day!
