These are a Few of My Favorite Things – Revlon One Step Hair Dryer

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!  Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions even some health tricks. Really anything that we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!

Hey friends and happy Friday! My post is coming to you a little late today – but I am just too excited to not share this week’s favorite. So a few weeks back I got hit with a random sinus infection and was couch bound with a fever that would not quit. You know the type where if you nap and take Tylenol you feel good, but the moment you get up the dizzy aches hit again – yup. I was stuck resting, which normally isn’t so bad but I had a little procedure the week before and already had logged the lazy hours. So this weekend, I was feeling restless, but with no ability to get up and change it. So I decided to turn to my favorite blogs that  have not had as much of a chance to follow up on lately…. and there it was Mix and Match Mama’s post about the Revlon One Step Hair Dryer (she just posted about it again this week).  Shay is one of my favorite bloggers and I had always loved how she was honest about embracing her wavy hair to let go of the hours it takes to straighten not straight hair. So when she talked about a tool for straightening her hair, I listened. Then I saw the Revlo One Step Hair Dryer mentioned in another a few blogs and on some instagram stories – had I missed something.  Ya’ll I don’t know if it was retail therapy for being sick, hair envy, disbelief that it could be that great or what – but I was influenced!

Thanks to the magical power of Amazon prime this new gadget was on my doorstop by Monday and I could see for myself what the hype was all about. Plus lately between all the product it takes to keep my hair straight in this heat and just feeling blah myself, it seemed like my hair was rather limp and lifeless. No bounce and the shine was not the good kind – if you get my drift. I love the length and cut right now, but it takes so long to blow dry and it gets so hot on our bedroom level, I tend to get it “good enough”, which means still slightly damp so it has a slight wave that I tend to flat iron the heck out of and suddenly my hair isn’t pretty and straight, rather it is flat, lifeless and boring. I know, I know first world problems. But this meant I was skeptical this thing would work (don’t tell Danny since I had gone ahead and bought it), but also felt like “what the heck, I will give it a whirl!”.

Well guys, it took me about three tries and I got how to make it work, which means I am hooked. There are tons of reviews on this product, you see lots of bloggers trying it out and YouTube has all sorts of tutorials. So I won’t really waste your time with the how, but I will say that I have gotten my best results by still putting my hair in my Turbie Twist towel for at least 5 minutes but up to 15 if I have the time. Then if I really use  resistance when blow drying it goes faster and holds the blow out longer with a ton of bounce. By completing the process in three sections – my bottom layer, middle layer and top layer, I just focus the brush on that section and really twist the hair around the brush and then pull it through the hair. It almost feels like it is going to get tangled, but it doesn’t and the resistance really gives an awesome shape and extra shine.

So there you have it – in true internet fashion, I was influenced but I LOVE IT! And it has saved me both time during the process and my hair holds its style for more days than before. And I don’t get nearly as hot while getting ready in the AM, thus it is a big win! So if you are looking for a great way to get an easy blow out at home – try it out!

Thanks so much for reading and remember to make it a great day!
Jackie
