One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post! Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions even some health tricks. Really anything that we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!
Hey friends – yes I am back for Favorite Things this Friday…. because I got something you gals are gonna need now that the warmer weather is here: Turbie Twist! Now if you are anything like me you’re thinking – I need to buy a special towel for my hair? Really? No way … this is silly. But ya’ll enough bloggers were talking about it that I took the plunge and you know what? You do need it. And let me tell you why…..
First you have to understand about our house…. it gets NO AIR FLOW. It is a very tall and skinny town house so when it is winter you are FREEZING and when it is summer you are melting. Unless your hanging on our main level then you are not getting good air flow. With my office and bedroom being upstairs – we have a lot of fan options, but when you get out of a hot steamy shower (and I take my showers HOT during all seasons #OCDproblems) – there is no fan that is going to cool that area down enough for you to whip on that hair dryer and not die. And by die I of course mean sweat so much you need another shower AND that blow out is basically a waste of time. By the time I can get past the first section of my hair to blow dry and straighten the rest, the humidity has already attacked and my waves aren’t even beachy or cute – they are just frizz. But before you completely judge me and think this post is basically first world problems at its finest…. it is not that the turbie twist just helps your hair to to ring out so you can get it dry and straight before the humidity waves attack – but it has also cut my hair drying and styling time IN HALF and actually made for a smoother morning.
Here is how it works for me – you shower and wash your hair and as soon as you get out of the shower and those products on your hair throw it up in a Turbie Twist. Then you can do as many of your other daily routines as possible to give your hair that time to dry. I do my skin care routine, make the coffee, and best of all when I am winning my mornings- I can actually enjoy that cup of coffee with my prayer books. -all while my hair is being dried! Now instead of cursing the air flow, getting all hot and bothered, and likely leaving late because I am fighting my hair into submission while simultaneously wiping the sweat (which makes for a funny visual… but isn’t super successful), I am letting my hair dry, while having a nice start to the day. And when it comes time to blow dry – it is half the time and I am out the door.
I know, I know – this earth shattering piece of news was absolutely vital that I make it back to the blog for… BUT every time I use my towels (at least 3-4 times a week), I get frustrated that I haven’t written this post! So yes the blog is a lot about our life and I enjoy the important posts or memories…. but this favorite thing just had to be shared. And if I have convinced you…. you can order them from their specific website, buy them at Bed Bath and Beyond or I nabbed mine through Amazon. If you try it let me know…. and by that I of course mean thank me for giving you complete control on your life…. or at least until you walk out that bathroom door to the next adventure of the day.
Wishing every one an awesome weekend!
Thank you so much for reading and remember to make it a great day!
