These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!  Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions to health tricks. Really anything that I feel we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!

Well folks as if you had not already heard…. this week we celebrate the baby Heppes graduation from our beloved Bishop O’Connell high school! Just as all graduations are an accomplishment – this one is too, but it is going to be a bit bigger….. since it is the end of the Heppes era of students walking those halls. So this week is a time we will honor our girl, but also reflect back on our time as family at that school. O’Connell represents a lot of different experiences, emotions, milestones and lessons for all five of us. Not a single one of us had the same high school journey, but we all did learn, grow, and find a part of ourselves at that school that is still very much a part of our lives today. In many ways O’Connell really represents that all of us Heppes kids are individuals with lives that will be different, but if we are blessed enough to remain bonded, very intertwined. So what favorite goes with this moment in time – one of my all time favorite shows, Parenthood.

Heppes Family June 2013
Parenthood is the story of a family with four children navigating life as adults. They face the roller coasters that come with the real world and share the realities of having such a big family, who is very much on the ride with you. Watching this series I laughed, I cried, and I actually learned a thing or two about the importance of remembering that no two people – even from the same family – will ever be exactly alike.

Every time my family gathers for a meal or celebration, I can’t help but be reminded of a seen I saw take place around the Braverman’s backyard table. So this week as all my siblings return to Ashburn and take those photos that will commemorate this moment and be apart of our future “remember when’s” – I am sure I will be remembering this family I came to know and love Thursday nights on my television.

This series has come to a close…. but thanks to good ole Netflixs you can enjoy it too! And I think Danny put it best, almost anyone can enjoy the show because it is one of those programs that gives everyone a character they can relate to – maybe even a few. So if you do decide to try it out – summer is here and a lot of shows go on break soon – I would say give it a few episodes (I knew a few bloggers that gave up quickly because of the tears it evoked) and just in case have a few tissues. This is a fun one that is great to have on your cue and provide a little break from all the reality TV mess that is out there these days. I know you will just fall in love with the Bravermans like I have…. several times over! Happy Watching!!

Thank you for reading and remember to make it a great day!
Jackie

  1. I can really relate as Parenthood was one of our favorite shows and from time to time I wondered when a TV crew may show up at the Heppes house 2 film
