These Are A Few of My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!  Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions to health tricks. Really anything that I feel we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!

Today I want to share with you another of my favorite hair tools – the Wet Brush! This brush you use immediately after the shower to get some of the water out and remove tangles with a gentle ease. I first heard about this brush from two different places at the same time: my sister and  a favorite blogger. I of course thought how could one brush make that much difference? So my sister gifted me one to prove it. I liked it and used it everyday – but did not think that much of it. Well a year later – with some training in how to use it – and I realize it has played a large role in growing out my hair in a long and healthy way.

The trick is to not only brush through your hair but if you run into tangles to gently and carefully brush them out. It only takes a few seconds – but the protection in provides your hair by working through the tangle and not just breaking the hair to get the knot out is the key. Once I started trying to actually pay attention – instead of just forcing my comb or brush through  the hair I felt a difference in my hair thickness, how much less water my hair would retain – therefore much faster to blow dry – and ultimately allowing it to grow a lot stronger. I know it sounds crazy – but I love this brush!

So if you are wondering why the heck I am spending a whole blog post on a brush…. I recommend you try it out! The are available at most beauty stores – but even easier, at Target too! And if you do choose to give this a whirl, defiantly get the largest size. To save money and really see if I liked it I started out with the hand held size –  but to feel the true effects, I think you need to real deal. Happy brushing!
