These are a Few of My Favorite Things!

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!  Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions to health tricks. Really anything that I feel we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!

In high school I kept my hair on the shorter side. It seemed that with my wavy locks keeping it cut and styled around my shoulders allowed for me to have the most manageable hair that was healthy. Preferring to blow dry and then straighten daily, I was also putting a lot of strain on my locks… meaning the ends would quickly start to split and regular cuts were required.

Once I went to college I wore my hair a little longer. I was away from my regular hair dresser, without a car regularly, and money become a little more tight (aka – on my own). I tried a few different looks – but for the most part I stuck to shoulder length. Even when the length of time increased between haircuts, my ends would require maintenance pretty regularly. They would start to feel like straw, lose their shine, and become difficult to style – straight or curly.

Then my 20s hit and my sister become a professional hair dresser….. it was officially my last chance to try growing my hair out. If I could not get my hair to cooperate with  an expert’s help and while I still have time to spend on helping it grow, then I am not meant to have long hair. Well it has been a big success and a few years later…. I LOVE having longer hair! There are a few great products that helped me get my hair here, while remaining healthy, and today I am sharing the best one: Its A 10 Miracle Leave In Product!

After every hair wash I spray my hair down with 3-4 full pumps of product while still damp. I then brush my whole mane to spread it throughout and then go about my regular hair routine – adding in other products, blow drying, straightening etc. Once I started using this my hair become thicker, held its shine better, and would easily be styled – well past the date for a trim! My hair grew and become much thicker….. I have loved it! There are a few other tricks – such as trying not blow dry and straighten so often, or if I am going to straighten then let it air dry over night. Those little steps certainly helped – but it has been this product that has really brought my hair back to life.
