These are A Few of My Favorite Things

One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!  Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions to health tricks. Really anything that I feel we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!


Today’s item we are talking about is not only a favorite of mine….but a little teeny bit of a PSA: Drink Water! I am a beverage gal. When driving in the summer heat, windows down, hair up – there is nothing better than a fresh ice tea with extra ice! As the snow falls down and I am on my couch in my cozy PJs a warm cup of Starbucks is a must! As you gather with family and friends around a lovely dinner – toasting with a glass Cab is about the best! And anyone who knows me knows that a margarita is ALWAYS a good idea! I love to cheers with all sorts of beverages, but the truth of the matter is – the best one is water.


Over the years I have had seasons of life that I am exceptionally good with my water – a glass by my side – a total of 10 a day. And then there are those times that you have that same one glass of water following you around with barely a dent in it all day long! However there are a few key elements I have found motivates water intake – a cute water bottle, some fresh lemon or cucumber, and having water with you ALL DAY LONG! If its there – most of the time – you will inevitably drink it.

The power of water can be found all over the internet, in medical reports, with any good health plan – the evidence is there. For me  though its pretty simple: I have found I just feel better! If I am feeling super anxious or maybe a little edgy and want to snap at someone – taking a breath and big gulp of cold water has the oddest calming effect. When I want to control my calorie intake, want to slim that waist line, hope to fight bloating and bad digestion – water! If I am feeling sick and need to ward it off – or if I am sick and want to get it out…. water. There is absolutely no negative result from taking in your water….besides the whole bathroom break issue (but even that is a sign of health!!). There is no doubt about it – water is the best there is!

As we head into spring and the warmer weather now is the time that I plan to re-dedicate myself to the water cause! And you can too – so grab your cutest water bottle/cup (I recommend a monogram), cut up some fresh lemon, and chug that H2O!
