One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just following along to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. As a result of my love for blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! Reading about a solution that an everyday person, just like me, finds enriching to their lives has been really helpful – so here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post! Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions even some health tricks. Really anything that we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!
Lately life has been busy: Danny has added in his twice weekly IV treatments, I have my current medical focus, we both have full plates with work and all while trying to sell enjoy summer life. So eating healthy can be hard when your on the go and all the summer cocktails and tasty snacks (why does chips and guacamole taste better in summer??) call your name. We are making it a priority to stock our frig and pantry with options we now will fuel us and if they are easy to grab as we run off , then we are more likely to eat them. During this effort, I was looking for a sweet treat and with peanut butter and chocolate being my favorite combo – I made some Juice Plus Protein Balls. These are fast, fresh, tasty, and 100% guilt free – plus they fill you up. So they are my favorite thing for this Friday!
If you have been around here before you know that my family, thanks to my mom’s passion for good health through what you eat, have been taking Juice Plus for over 15 years. By taking our daily capsules we receive servings of 30 different fruits, veggies and grains – on top of what we eat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. And I don’t know about you – but even on my best day 5-7 servings of the good stuff is hard, so our Juice Plus takes care of that for us. And I also love their complete powder for smoothies – which is how I made these little treats.
It is a super simple recipe for even the anti-cook like me: 1 cup of all the ingredients except just 1/2 a cup of honey. Put them in the frig – I especially like them a little chilled and you are good to go. I then store them in my frig for the week and use them for snacks, before a workout, or at night when I should be getting in that last serving of water and convince myself I need a sweet treat to wash down with said water.
