One of my favorite things about being a blog follower is how the experience goes from just checking-in to eventually feeling like you are taking advice from a friend. Where did you get that sweater? Do you really like jeans from that store? Is that actually the perfect bag? How did you get your hair to do that? Is that really the new “it” color for living rooms? In fact my journey into the blogsphere all started with a love for Pinterest: all sorts of creative inspirations to be found and when I started to actually click on pins to find the original post…. I became a lover of blogs!
Before I knew it I was constantly checking in with my favorite bloggers to find out what their weekend held or how that project they previewed turned out, just like I would with any good friend. But to sweeten the deal? Instead of just wondering how your neighbor completed that backyard make over or where your sister found that perfect necklace in the real world, bloggers want to tell you how they did it – and if your lucky even offer you a coupon code!
As a result of my love of blogs, I have purchased clothes, tried hair styles, decorated mantles, read books, organized my office, discovered health tricks, and become inspired in countless ways! On top of finding some of my favorite articles of clothes or tricks for staying organized, I have found there is something that feels organic about this type of consumerism. Instead of walking through a mall perusing the perfectly adorned display or flipping through a catalogue – that leaves you feeling as if you can’t live one more second without that item you never even knew existed – I am seeing an everyday person who has found a solution of sorts that enriches their lives so much they just had to share it with the world. So here on HALF I thought I would get in on the info sharing action and include a weekly favorites post!
Each week I will share one of my favorites things! The topic areas will range from favorite clothes to organizing solutions to health tricks. Really anything that I feel we just can’t live without – or would really not want to – at the Bessette home and maybe you can find something you love too!
First up – my Barrington Bag. First and foremost – I am a bag girl! It is probably one of my most favorite things to buy and for as long I can remember I have been on the search for the perfect bag. Sometimes its a cute clutch and other times it is akin to piece of luggage. I have all shapes, all sizes, all brands, all price points…. I am pretty sure I can find just about any reason to shop for and procure a new bag. So it is only fitting that a bag is right where I start. Secondly this is one of my first blogger inspired purchase. I love my Barrington Bag!

At this season of life having a bag to carry it all is essential. Whether its everyday use where I gather all the things I could need for when the free moments pop up – calendar, laptop, notebooks. Or a day of doc appointments that require a lot of entertainment to take us from one end of Hopkins to the other – magazines, snacks, iPad. This bag is very roomy – without losing its shape from being jam packed!

Barrington Bags won’t break the bank, but for me it was an investment, so I choose it as the big 3-0 birthday present. A new bag is always a good gift, but since this is one that I not only was eyeing after several of my favorite bloggers’ recommendations (Mix and Match Mama, Momfessionals, Hi Sugarplum), but when you order a bag from this special store you get to design it. Colors, patterns, label…..it is all your choice!

Finally – they are a company that stands by their brand! A few months after I had my first bag, the leather on the handles started to crack. First I was really sad – my bag!!! Secondly – it is a decently priced bag – shouldn’t it hold up? Well, I contacted them and BAM – new bag in exchange for my old one! There you have it folks, and I have yet to turn back. Now the only bad things are that I haven’t traded out my bags as often as I used to so a few of my other bags are being neglected. Second? I can’t seem to travel light ANYWHERE….. oops!

Next time you are shopping for a new bag – check them out!
Thank you of reading and remember to make it a great day!
